This is Amy writing from Rhonda's computer. She had a relatively peaceful night last night. She actually took two laps around the hall with a "swedish walker", which is a walker designed to support your weight if your legs become weak. The breathing treatments helped her breathe easier, and she didn't cough through the night. The morning though, as usual, started with coughing and difficulty taking deep breaths. She had another breathing treatment soon after waking which helped some. Rhonda is still very weak, sleepy, and fading in and out of conversation. Her sister, mother, and I are here this morning reading prayers, another chapter in a book, playing soft music, and visiting. Wendy will be by today too.

The doctors did a bronchoscopy today around 1:00 pm to remove fluid and take a biopsy in her lung. They hope to be able to identify exactly what her body is fighting so they can best treat it. The procedure went well and the doctors saw no abnormalities visually.

As Phyllis said in her last entry, Rhonda is so moved by the caring and prayers of you all. Mary Alice read from a book this morning called "Letters from Heaven." Each page is a tender letter from God. She read, "Would it surprise you to know that there are people praying for you today - people who care about the pain you feel and the struggle you are facing? Would it surprise you to know that my very own Son, Jesus Christ, is standing right beside Me today, speaking your name and asking Me to help you? He is praying for you, as He prayed for His friend Peter, that you will not lose your faith during this trial. He is asking Me to grant you a special portion of mercy so you can come through this ordeal intact. Believe Me when I tell you I listen to the voice of My Son and to the prayers of My people. They are for you, and I am for you. So be encouraged this day, My child. You are surrounded by love. God"
